what are microgreens?

Microgreens come from seeds of vegetables, legumes, herbs and cereals. They are harvested and eaten at an early stage of life, more specifically at the appearance of the first leaves (known as cotyledons). They have a very high concentration of nutrients. Some varieties can contain up to 40x more nutrients than the mature vegetable (or plant).

Their growing popularity means that we now find a very large variety of micro-growths: Basil, Broccoli, Cabbage, Lettuce, Corn, Mustard, Peas, Radish, Rocket, Sunflower and many others.

Mainly used as a garnish, in a salad or in a sandwich, they have a very pronounced taste. Only a small quantity is needed to add a dose of flavor and color to your dishes. The slightly less spicy varieties can be added in large quantities to greens to create a delicious, nutrient-packed salad.

We pay particular attention to the quality of our product. This is why our microgreens are produced with organic seeds, on top-quality organic soil without the use of any fertilizers.

Les Jardins Lemmy Lou is not just a farm business born out of a deep desire to produce healthy and delicious microgreens. It is the result of the imposing decision we made to leave our urban life behind and settle down with our small family in the country to devote ourselves to our passion: agriculture. Living our passion is not only about growing microgreens, but also about sharing them with our community.

small space, big flavors!

Our facility is located in Stanbridge East and provides the ideal controlled environment for the production of a fresh and delicious product, all year round. The climate stability of our facility allows us to grow quality products on a consistent and regular basis.

Inspired by urban agriculture initiatives in microgreens growing, we produce vertically in order to maximize our very small production space (300 sq. ft.). Our facility allows us to continually develop and optimize our production techniques while aiming to minimize our water and electricity consumption.
